What is the Cave de Saint-Désirat?

Updated on 05/22/2026

The Cave de Saint-Désirat is a cooperative winery located in the north of the Ardèche department, at the heart of the Northern Rhône Valley vineyard. Founded in 1960, it currently brings together several hundred winemakers who cultivate their vines on the granitic hillsides overlooking the Rhône River. The cooperative produces various wines from renowned appellations such as Saint-Joseph, Condrieu, or Côtes-du-Rhône, as well as local PGI wines (vins de pays). The Cave de Saint-Désirat plays a major role in showcasing the terroirs of Ardèche and promoting the wines of the Northern Rhône Valley. The cooperative winemakers pool their expertise and harvests to produce wines that truly reflect the local terroir. The winery also welcomes visitors to its tasting cellar to discover the wines, taste the vintages, and gain a better understanding of the region's viticulture.
