Terroir
This wine from the northern Côtes du Rhône is located on 26 communes in the Ardèche and the Loire, on the right bank of the Rhône. The vineyards run for about fifty kilometres along the Rhône, they are on the \"historical\" terroir.
The wine is a Marsanne and Roussane variety wine, the yield is limited to 40 Hls/Ha with a planting density of minimum 4,500 vines/Ha but reaching 6,500 vines/Ha on the slopes.
Vinification
Following a rigorous selection of the grapes, they are pressed and the wine is made using traditional methods. The alcohol fermentation lasts several weeks and frees subtle and complex aromas, the monolactic fermentation brings suppleness, roundness and finesse.
Part of the Saint Joseph White from the domain is matured in oak barrels for a few months before assembly. This ageing in barrels gives it a golden colour and special aromas.
Tasting
Straw colour, slightly golden, brilliant, clear and fluid. Very aromatic, rich and complex with notes of cooked apples and slightly woody spices, an underlying floral note with a touch of mineral. We find the same complexity in the taste, the same aromas with a long, round, fat finish.
Serve whith
Recommended with rich fish with sauces, Scallops, Turbot and poultry with cream.
